Time for a moan

I do try to avoid MicroSoft from ruining my day, but sometimes I just fail.

Today’s grumpy moan is about MS Authenticator. I’ve been working for a large organisation for a while now, and the house preference is MS, so I’ve put aside my usual blanket ban on all things Windows in the name of earning a crust.

I now have Teams, Outlook, and a list of other apps and widgets - all under an umbrella security system that uses Authenticator - which has been fine until today.

Ok, so it’s partly Apple’s fault

It was the Cambridge Half Marathon on Sunday, and after dropping someone at Stansted, I headed into town to meet she who had a corporate team to support. That was the plan - my phone had other ideas. It ran out of juice and refused to charge use an in-car wire. I bought a power-bank and that did nothing to help. I went to the Apple store and tried wireless charging - no good. SO I bought a new phone. Problem rather expensively solved. Contact restored. Domestic crisis contained.
